About this Job: General Summary of Position The Pharmacy Technician carries out technical responsibilities related to medication distribution and dispensing as part of the pharmacy team, supporting improved patient care outcomes and quality under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. All duties are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and the policies, procedures, standards, and philosophy of Georgetown University Hospital.    This is a Full Time opening rotating day and evening shifts.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities   Prepares all medications including narcotics for dispensing which includes drug selection, labeling and packaging. Enters medication orders in the computer system evaluating/editing patient data, checking for drug allergies and duplications, calculating dosage conversions, and determining the number of doses/dosage forms needed.
