Overview: The Pharmacy Purchasing Technician performs technical support tasks to assist Staff Pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Documents information on patient profiles. Maintains stock levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Responsible for the delivery, set up, and pick up of in-home IV infusion equipment and supplies, also included are enteral feeding supplies, product, and equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to infusion programmable pumps, enteral programmable pumps, and various mechanical infusion devices. Acts as customer service field representative. As field rep, duties will include but are not limited to: trouble-shooting problems with pump usage, both enteral and IV, instructs patients as to proper procedures for re-ordering supplies, helps existing patients with home supply inventory, instructs patients regarding proper storage and/or use of IV medications.
