Overview: The Child Life Specialist, in collaboration with pediatric service team members, is responsible for assessing the psycho-social, developmental, and cognitive needs of patients, while enriching the hospital experience for pediatric patients and their families through preparation, education, coping support, alternative focus, and developmental care, to ensure the best possible experience for the child and family. Overview: Responsible for providing case management services to all patients referred to WakeMed Rehab as well as marketing activities to monitor and develop relationships with all referral sources. This includes conducting a thorough clinical evaluation, assessing available resources and facilitating the development of a discharge/transfer plan from the referral location to the appropriate program within WakeMed Rehab system, or recommendations for alternative care options.
