Assistant Director of Emergency Services Under the direction of the departmental director, the assistant director is responsible for managing the operations of the emergency department. Along with the director, the assistant director ensures that the department complies with facility and departmental policies and procedures. The assistant director is responsible for delivery of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. The assistant director works with the director to maintain the appropriate human, material, technological, and financial resources necessary for the provision of patient care and supports the medical staff.
