Job Title:

Epic Principal Trainer_ Division of Information Systems

Job Summary:

The Epic Principal Trainer is responsible for delivering effective training programs for end users of Epic software applications. This role involves mastering at least one Epic application, developing and maintaining training materials, supporting training environments, and facilitating a successful learning experience for clinical and non-clinical staff. The Epic Principal Trainer serves as a liaison between training and application teams to ensure the curriculum aligns with system updates and organizational workflows.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience in training, healthcare, or education.

Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:

Epic certification or accreditation required post-hire within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Epic, public speaking, presenting, and developing instructional materials in a healthcare or education setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of training methodology. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of computer systems, equipment, and applications. Verbal and written communication skills. Teaching and facilitation skills. Ability to conduct and/or facilitate information system training and instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs and comprehensive curricula for assigned Epic application(s), ensuring materials are current with system upgrades and changes.
  • Develop and administer assessments to support competency-based training.
  • Collaborate with super users to optimize Epic system usage and training effectiveness.
  • Build, test, and maintain training environments and scenarios aligned with learning objectives.
  • Deliver end-user training sessions, adapting to various learning styles and roles as needed.
  • Incorporates healthcare or teaching experience into scenarios and workflows for a relevant and effective end user training program
  • Monitor and resolve Landesk tickets related to Epic training promptly and effectively.
  • Train and credential internal trainers to provide end-user training and administer assessments; coordinate with credentialed trainers to maintain training quality.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across verbal, written, and digital channels, providing accurate documentation to peers and end users.
