What you'll do...:
At H&R Block, the Vice President of Marketing Operations plays a critical enterprise role in bringing discipline, clarity, and scalability to how marketing plans, prioritizes, and operates. This leader owns the operating system that enables marketing teams to execute with rigor and transparency—aligning resources, budgets, workflows, and timelines to enterprise priorities.
With broad, enterprise scope, the VP of Marketing Operations leads annual and integrated planning, marketing workflow and calendar management, capacity and resource planning, and marketing budget oversight. This role partners closely with Marketing leadership, Finance, and enterprise governance teams to drive operational excellence—so marketing teams can focus on delivering impact while operating with clarity and accountability.
This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Day to Day You’ll...
- Lead the end‑to‑end annual marketing planning process (portfolio planning and operating cadence), ensuring consistency, rigor, and alignment to enterprise priorities across business units.
- Own marketing budget management, in partnership with Finance, including planning and forecasting with the marketing leaders to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Serve as the primary marketing partner to enterprise governance, planning, and finance forums, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and priorities.
- Drive integrated marketing planning across business units, aligning strategies, timelines, resources, and investments into a cohesive enterprise plan and roadmap.
- Provide enterprise visibility into marketing capacity, utilization, and tradeoffs using data‑driven dashboards, KPIs, and OKRs to support prioritization and resourcing decisions.
- Define and govern marketing intake, workflow, prioritization using clear demand‑management and portfolio governance models, and sequencing to improve speed, clarity, and execution quality.
- Establish and oversee marketing project management standards to ensure delivery against commitments and timelines.
- Select, implement, and continuously improve marketing operations, work management, and planning platforms that scale across teams and business units.
- Own the enterprise marketing calendar, ensuring coordination, visibility, and deconfliction across teams and channels.
- Build, lead, and develop high‑performing teams that set modern, enterprise‑ready operating standards.
What you'll bring to the team...:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred (or equivalent progressive leadership experience)
- 15+ years of progressive marketing, operations, or enterprise planning experience
- Deep expertise in marketing planning and operating models, including annual planning and integrated roadmaps
- Proven ownership of complex marketing budgets, with accountability for forecasting, pacing, and transparency
- Hands‑on experience building scalable workflows, tools, and governance frameworks
- Strong cross‑functional partnership experience with Finance, Enterprise Planning, PMO, or governance teams
- Executive‑level communication and influence skills, with the ability to translate complex scenarios into decision‑ready insights
- Demonstrated success leading teams through organizational, process, or tooling change while maintaining delivery
- Experience operating at enterprise scale, across multiple business units or portfolios
- Proven people leadership experience, including building and developing leaders
- Experience with work management and planning platforms (e.g., Workfront, Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Planview, Adobe, Salesforce, Marketo, Sprinklr, Allocadia, Anaplan, or similar enterprise tools)
- Familiarity with marketing financial management, portfolio planning, or capacity planning systems

- Strong background in capacity, resource, and workload planning
- Demonstrated change leadership within large, complex organizations
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience leading managers or directors

Pay Range Information:
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range:
$212,000.00 - $318,000.00/Yr.
