Job Title: Eye Clinic Coordinator

Department: Eye Clinic

Reports to: Eye Clinic Director

Classification: Regular, Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

Work location: Onsite

Starting Salary: $39,750 - $46,764

Job Summary:

The overall purpose is to support the daily patient facing and administrative operations of the Eye clinic specialty service lines and provide administrative support to clinical leadership

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • All the duties of the Optometric Technician role
  • Lead technician for specialty clinics
  • Oversees clinic flow and supports volunteer providers during specialty services
  • Ensure patient logs and records are completed
  • Ensures appropriate supplies are available for each specialty
  • Maintains and reports volunteer hours
  • Triages emergency appointment requests
  • Facilitates specialty PAP program enrollment
  • General administrative support for Optometry team and onsite specialty clinics
  • Train and oversee non-medical volunteers
  • Maintains specialty equipment use logs
  • Ensure external clinic records are received for patients seeing on-site specialists.
  • Manage volunteer hours tracking, volunteer appreciation, and follow up.
  • Provide oversight and training for interns
  • Support the on-boarding and training of scholars for specialty clinics
  • Support the on-boarding and orientation of volunteer providers
  • Scribe for specialty volunteers
  • Assist with quality improvement projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail


Education and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's Degree or Certification: Education or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience is preferred.
