• POSITION SUMMARY
  •  The Oncology Social Worker (OSW) at Spencer Cancer Center provides psychosocial services to patients, families and caregivers facing the impact of a cancer diagnosis and treatment, through all phases of the cancer continuum as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. The OSW operates from a strengths perspective to maximize optimal patient functioning, navigating health care resources to reduce distress and improve survivorship. They are knowledgeable about the psychosocial, emotional and financial implications facing cancer and resources to improve cancer care.
• POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Education
    • MSW
  • 
    Minimum Experience
    • Two years in a clinical social service setting
  • 
    Required Registration/License/Certification
    • Current license or eligibility for licensure as a MSW
    • BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer
  • 
    Preferred Education
    • N/A
  • 
    Preferred Experience
    • Previous experience with the oncology patients and families is preferred.
  • 
    Preferred Registration/License/Certification
    • Board of Oncology Social Work Certification (OSW-C) preferred
