Performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties using complex imaging equipment to produce quality mammographic images as requested. All duties are performed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. In order to meet staffing needs of the department, staff may be occasionally assigned to any of the GH diagnostic radiology locations regardless of regularly assigned work location. This job description and requirements for this position have been approved by the medical chairman for the department of diagnostic imaging as well as the executive committee of the medical staff.

EDUCATION:
Graduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program. AS degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Must complete initial digital and tomosynthesis breast imaging course.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Proficient in the knowledge and application of routine breast imaging and /or screening mammography procedures, above average knowledge of computer / Visage applications, and good organizational and communication/customer service skills.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Must meet the performance expectations as defined in the Mammography, Technologist 1 position description . Performance and competency will be assessed continually and, reviewed annually by supervisor /manager. Any areas that are determined to be unsatisfactory will require, additional training and re-evaluation within 90 days.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
R.T. (R) certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Connecticut State Radiographer's License must sit for Mammography boards within 6 months, and CPR certification.
