The Opportunity:

As part of the firm’s dynamic and diverse Immigration Investigations and Compliance Practice, you will support the practice by focusing on immigration compliance matters and projects including Form I-9 and E-Verify issues.

The Day-To-Day:

On any given day, you will be working with our Business Immigration Group’s Compliance attorneys and team members. You will:

  • Multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Navigate complex technology platforms efficiently
  • Work on the employment eligibility matters which includes auditing, monitoring and training assignments as well as other related I-9 and E-Verify tasks
  • Review and analyze data for investigations to identify trends and other concerns
  • Conduct research, draft responses for government investigations, draft detailed declarations, document review and gather and assemble supporting evidence and documentation
  • Take thorough and clear notes during witness/employee interviews and investigative meetings
  • Support attorneys with routine tasks including file organization, tracking tasks, deadlines and updates to clients and attorneys
  • Support attorneys in time entry, expenses, matter openings, scanning and other administrative duties
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
  • Consistent with firm and applicable client guidelines, accurately track and enter billable and non-billable time, on a daily basis, into the firm’s timekeeping system
You Have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • A strong desire to work in a team-oriented environment to meet client compliance objectives related to the US immigration laws
  • The ability to use good judgment and work independently after receiving assignments and necessary training
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in communication, teamwork, and ability to work in a practice that utilizes a sophisticated technology platform
  • Ability to understand and followed detailed instructions
  • Ability to independently track and manage tasks and assignments
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Prior immigration experience is preferred but not required

Location Specific Language:

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $58,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Washington, D.C. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
