Employee Health Coordinator

Location- Dade City/ Travel Required

Part time

General Description:

The Employee Health Nurse is responsible for the assessment and processing of post offer employment appointments and annual compliance. This will include coordinating fit testing, immunization history and TB testing. Will partner with Clinical Leadership, Human Resources and the Director of Risk Management and Compliance to create a safe workplace and reduce occupational illnesses and exposures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversight of Employee Health program, policies, and educationStays informed on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines and regulations. Update policies and procedures accordingly.Coordinates preventative screening programs (i.e. TB skin testing, influenza, hepatitis B, and other appropriate immunizations) and surveillance programs designed to identify and monitor risks to the employee’s health.Administers the Respiratory Protection Program, which includes arranging for fit testing for the care team and providing respiratory protection trainingAdministers required onboarding and seasonal flu immunizations and TB testingPartners with Director of Nursing, Human Resources, and Director of Risk & Compliance accordinglyDraws blood and gives injections as needed to support the Employee Health Program Maintains and protects confidential employee health records for all care team members according to regulatory requirementsAssists with the development of policies and procedures for Employee Health Services.Tracks screening records and follows-up with employees not in compliance, notifying management and Human ResourcesTrain, coach and develop team members, including staffing and managing performance related concernsEnsure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all timesKeep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.Contribute to community give back initiatives and be an advocate for Premier’s missionAdhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experienceWork towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)Other duties as assigned

Proficient understanding of Employee and Occupational Health standardsAdvanced knowledge and skill in all aspects of immunizations for adultsKnowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical recordMust possess initiative and the ability to work independentlyAbility to maintain confidentiality of medical recordsMaintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers, patients, the entire organization, and the public. Maintains the highest professional work ethics. Displays enthusiasm toward the work, mission, and vision of the organization. Exceptional customer service skills and demonstration of empathy and compassion to a diverse patient population. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with multiple levels within the organization.Excellent grammar, spelling and interpersonal skills.Exhibits honesty and ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and upholding Premier Community HealthCare's values in all interactions.

 

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in nursing Registered Nursing (RN) license in the State of FloridaCertified Occupational Health Nurse preferredCurrent BLS certification requiredFive (5) years of experience in nursingExperience working in either an employee health clinic, infectious disease or family medicine clinic strongly preferredDemonstrated experience leading projects or annual compliance programs preferredValid Florida Driver’s license with ability to travel to all Premier sites on a daily basis
