Primary Purpose:
Support and contribute to the design, implementation, documentation and on-going performance of daily operational processes and systems required for the Company to purchase power, Renewable Energy Credits, Zero Emissions Credits and Carbon Mitigation Credits in the wholesale marketplace and deliver energy to retail customers under a restructured retail environment. Support other Analysts in Department with on-going responsibilities for procurement events, administration of supplier contracts, supplier and PJM payments, supplier credit and collateral requirements and implementation of legislative initiatives. Perform financial reporting required for other Company organizations related to PJM billing and the procurement of energy supply, Renewable Energy Credits, Zero Emissions Credits and Carbon Mitigation Credits
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties:
- Support for the design, testing, implementation, documentation and on-going performance of daily operational processes and systems required for PJM bill estimation and PJM bill payment
- On-going responsibility for supplier contract administration and the processing of monthly payments for energy and Renewable Energy Credits, Zero Emissions Credits sand Carbon Mitigation Credits
- On-going responsibility for the preparation of and submittal of quarterly regulatory reporting to ICC and FERC related to energy procurement
- Management of the preparation and submittal of documentation for financial audits and retention of all supplier contract documentation
- On-going responsibility for monitoring of PJM and supplier credit and collateral requirements in coordination with Department Manager and other company organizations
Job Scope:
The management of energy, capacity, transmission service and ancillary services purchased and delivered by the Department exceeds $6 billion annually. The processing of collateral requirements associated with credit and mark-to-market activities exceeds $2 billion annually. Market design issues affect wholesale procurement methodologies and costs and retail tariffs, billing and revenues. Daily processes affect short-and long-term load and financial forecasts, real-time operations and after-the-fact reporting and settlement throughout the Company. Department members continually work with senior members of Customer Operations, Regulatory and External Affairs, Transmission Operations, Finance, Accounting and outside consultants in performing daily responsibilities and supporting strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics or relevant discipline and a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3-6 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with restructured retail marketplace and retail tariffs, billing and enrollments
- Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electric utility experience
- Knowledge of company billing systems and practices
- Familiarity with energy wholesale marketplace, OATTs and PJM business rules
- Experience working with Excel spreadsheets and other data analysis tools

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $72,000.00/Yr. – $99,000.00/Yr.
