The Assistant Property Manager supports the daily operations of a multifamily community, ensuring exceptional resident service, smooth administrative processes, and strong financial performance. This role works closely with the Property Manager to maintain occupancy, uphold community standards, and create a positive living environment for residents and team members.
Key Responsibilities
Resident relations and Customer service. Serve as a primary point of contact for residents, prospects, and vendors. Respond to resident inquiries, concerns, and service requests with professionalism and urgency. Support resident retention efforts, including renewal outreach and community engagement activities. Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and unit inspections.
Leasing and Marketing
Conduct property tours, process applications, and ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws. Maintain accurate availability, pricing, and marketing information. Support marketing initiatives, outreach efforts, and online reputation management. Track leasing performance and assist in achieving occupancy goals.
Financial and Administrative Management
Process rent payments, deposits, and delinquency follow-up. Assist with month-end reporting, invoice processing, and budget tracking. Maintain accurate resident files, lease documents, and compliance records. Support audit preparation and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Operations and Maintenance Coordination
Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion. Assist with vendor scheduling, contract coordination, and property inspections. Help maintain curb appeal and uphold community standards. Monitor safety, cleanliness, and compliance across the property.
Qualifications
Experience in multifamily property management, leasing, or customer service. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of property management software RealPage. Understanding of Fair Housing and local housing regulations. Ability to work weekends or flexible hours as needed.
