Two-Cycle Technician

The Two-Cycle Technician plays a critical role in maintaining that reputation by ensuring all STIHL products, rental equipment, and customer-owned small engine equipment are properly diagnosed, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics & Repair -
  • -Diagnose and repair two-cycle and small engine equipment including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, cut-off saws, generators, plate compactors, and other rental power equipment
  • -Perform carburetor rebuilds, fuel system repairs, ignition repairs, clutch replacements, and compression diagnostics
  • -Accurately estimate repair time and required parts
  • -Complete repairs within established turnaround standards

  • Preventative Maintenance -
  • -Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on rental fleet equipment
  • -Conduct pre-rental inspections and post-rental damage assessments
  • -Ensure equipment meets manufacturer safety and performance standards
  • -Maintain detailed maintenance logs and service records

  • Parts & Inventory Coordination -
  • Identify and communicate parts needs to management
  • Assist with managing commonly used parts inventory
  • Complete warranty documentation accurately
  • Maintain an organized service bench and work area

  • Customer Interaction -
  • -Clearly communicate repair findings and cost estimates
  • -Provide professional recommendations on equipment and service
  • -Support product sales through technical knowledge when needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of small engine repair experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines
  • Experience working with carburetors, ignition systems, and fuel systems
  • Ability to read service manuals and schematics
  • Basic computer skills for service documentation
  • Valid drivers license
  • (Preferred) STIHL certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • (Preferred) Experience working in a rental equipment environment
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with warranty claim submission

$22 - $33 an hour

Compensation details: 22-33 Hourly Wage
