Required License/Registration/Certification Licensed Pharmacist Physical Requirements This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Also involves some risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, burns, and combative/violent people. Shift Primarily day and evening shifts, including weekend rotation participation as well as holiday rotations. Position supports UK HealthCare Retail Pharmacy locations which may include coverage at a multiple locations on and off campus. Hours, days of the week, and location subject to change based on the needs of the department. This is a full-time 40hr/week position. Job Summary Position is for an Ambulatory Retail Pharmacist who compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians, and reviews and interprets prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and drug interactions are monitored. This position may support multiple retail pharmacy areas where staffing is needed. Scheduling is done six weeks at a time, and is a full-time benefitted position.
