Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

The Position:

Jon Webster Law Group, APC is seeking to fill the position of Litigation Associate Attorney. This is a hybrid remote/in-office, full-time position. The successful candidate will have one to three years of active litigation experience as a attorney licensed with the State Bar of California. This position requires a proven track record of successfully working independently. Adept time management and the ability to maintain good humor under the stress of litigation are highly valued. Being a great listener, a respectful communicator and a team player are essential. We anticipate this position will generate 1,700 billable hours annually. 

Responsible Practice Areas:

This position will be responsible for cases handled by the firm, including but not necessarily limited to the following areas of law:

• Wage and Hour, PAGA and class actions [Plaintiff and Defense Cases].
• Real Property Matters [Real property damage cases, partitions, commercial litigation]
• General Civil Litigation.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be:

• An experienced civil litigator in California for at least 1-3 years.
• A critical and strategic thinker in crafting pleadings.
• The thorough and thoughtful professional in responding to and propounding discovery.
• An excellent communicator with clients, team members, opposing counsel and the courts.

Key Performance Metrics:

The chosen candidate will handle tasks independently and efficiently, including:  

• Communicating effectively based on the audience, be that a client, opposing counsel or the court
• Conducting efficient and accurate legal and factual research.
• Drafting effective pleadings and discovery responses.
• Initiating and responding to discovery.
• Arguing motions and pre-trial organization.
