Job Description:
Highly visible, hands-on position responsible for the analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical information systems, processes, and structures. Assesses and analyzes proposed information technologies to improve management of clinical data related to physician and associated discipline practice. Provides systems workflow advice during the implementation processes and provides re-design ideas, builds nursing preference workflows and educates the end users. Ensures that the technology is being used appropriately, established technical and quality standards are followed, solutions are cost effective and the information needs of the informatics customers are met. Provides training for the clinical staff for existing and new applications. Consults with other staff from SMH departments. Uses clinical and non-clinical knowledge, informatics knowledge, practice experience and critical thinking to facilitate multidisciplinary approach to promote highly functioning quality care through the various applications within SMH.
