Where You Fit In: The Technology Operations Excellence Director sits within the CTO organization and is responsible for driving financial and operational discipline across our technology functions. This role partners closely with Engineering, Cloud Operations, Quality Assurance, and Release & Reliability leaders to improve cost transparency, operational insight, and decision-makingwithout owning infrastructure, service delivery, or enterprise IT.

Impact You Will Make in the Role

  • Lead the FinOps framework for cloud spend, providing visibility into usage, trends, and optimization opportunities across AWS and related services.
  • Partner with Cloud Operations and Engineering leaders to identify and drive cost optimization initiatives while preserving performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Establish consistent operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting to improve transparency and decision-making within the CTO organization.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support capacity planning, prioritization, and investment tradeoffs across engineering and cloud functions.
  • Enable operational excellence by identifying process inefficiencies and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Finance and FP&A by supplying accurate inputs related to cloud and technology operations; FP&A retains ownership of company-wide OpEx reporting and budgeting.
  • Communicate complex technical and financial information clearly to technology leadership and executives.

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in technology operations, FinOps, cloud financial management, or operational excellence roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud cost management practices.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior technical leaders without direct ownership of teams or infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex technical and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving technology environment.
  • Collaborative, structured, and detail-oriented approach to driving operational discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting globally distributed engineering or cloud operations teams.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, cloud architecture concepts, and modern delivery pipelines (from an enablement perspective).
  • Background in building executive dashboards and operational reporting frameworks.
