Overview
Dental Health of Willmar is seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health, and supporting the dental team in delivering a positive patient experience. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Dental Hygiene Duties
* Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, periodontal maintenance, and polishing.• Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments and screenings to identify signs of gum disease, tooth decay, and other oral conditions.• Take and develop dental X-rays in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.• Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants.• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and overall dental health.• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, sterilize and maintain dental instruments, and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.• Accurately chart and document patient treatment records and oral health histories.• Assist the dentist during exams and procedures as needed.• Promote a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for patients and staff.
Supply Monitoring & Maintenance
* Monitor inventory levels of clinical and office supplies; anticipate needs and place orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.• Receive, verify, and organize supply deliveries; communicate with vendors as needed.• Ensure all dental equipment and supplies are maintained in good working order and report any issues promptly.
Qualifications
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.• Current state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and CPR certification.• Previous experience in a dental practice; front desk or administrative experience preferred.• Proficiency with dental instruments, digital radiography, and dental practice management software.• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.• Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and work collaboratively within a team.• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
