Job Title: Director of Strategic Initiatives

Location: Baltimore, MD or Remote (within the US)Department: ExecutiveReports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Type: Full-Time

Hours of work: Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM local time Monday through Friday. Flexibility of Working Hours dependent on location. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 annually (commensurate with experience) with an annual bonus opportunity of up to 10%.

The Director of Strategic Initiatives serves as a trusted advisor and execution leader to the President & CEO and senior leadership team, responsible for driving enterprise-level, cross-functional initiatives that materially impact performance, scalability, and operational excellence.

 

This role blends strategy, program leadership, and process optimization, with a strong emphasis on project management rigor, Six Sigma/continuous improvement methodologies, and executive-level stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate brings experience operating in complex, regulated environments and is comfortable leading initiatives that span multiple departments, systems, and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy, Program & Project Leadership

o   Partner with the President & CEO to define, prioritize, and execute company-wide strategic initiatives, including transformation, growth, and operational improvement efforts

o   Translate corporate strategy into structured programs and projects with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, KPIs, and success metrics

o   Lead multi-department initiatives across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Operations, and IT

o   Apply disciplined project and program management methodologies to ensure predictable execution and accountability

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

o   Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risks across business processes; lead process redesign and optimization efforts

o   Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks to improve quality, cycle time, scalability, and cost efficiency

o   Establish governance models, operating cadences, and reporting structures to support sustained execution excellence

o   Drive adoption of standardized processes while balancing flexibility in a growth environment

Executive & Stakeholder Engagement

o   Serve as a central point of coordination for CEO-sponsored and executive-level initiatives

o   Prepare and facilitate executive and board-level materials, including strategic updates, operating reviews, and initiative status reporting

o   Influence without authority; align senior leaders and functional teams around shared priorities and outcomes

o   Operate with high discretion, judgment, and executive presence

Business Analysis, Growth & M&A Support

o   Conduct market, competitive, and internal performance analysis to inform strategic decisions

o   Support business case development, financial modeling, and ROI analysis for new initiatives

o   Contribute to M&A, private equity, and post-integration initiatives, including operational integration, process alignment, and change management (as applicable)

 

Qualifications

 

Required

8–12+ years of experience in strategy, operations, program management, consulting, or general management rolesDemonstrated success leading large, cross-functional, enterprise initiatives with executive visibilityStrong project and program management experience, including complex, multi-workstream initiativesExperience driving process improvement, operational excellence, or transformation initiativesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial and data-driven decision makingExceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills

 

Preferred

Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) or formal Lean / continuous improvement trainingMBA or advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, or related fieldExperience working directly with C-suite executives, boards, private equity partners, or investorsExposure to M&A activity, PE-backed environments, or post-merger integrationBackground in healthcare technology, SaaS, or other regulated, complex operating environments
