Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Law Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload involving divorce, custody, support, and other family law matters. This role requires excellent legal judgment, advocacy skills, and the ability to provide exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution
* Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences
* Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
* Conduct legal research and develop strategies for complex family law issues
* Communicate regularly with clients and provide legal guidance
* Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in contested and uncontested matters
* Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely case progression
* Maintain accurate billing, timekeeping, and case documentation
* Stay current on family law statutes, case law, and procedural rules
Qualifications
* Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
* Active license to practice law in Idaho
* 1–3+ years of family law or litigation experience preferred
* Courtroom and litigation experience strongly preferred
* Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities
* Strong negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Professionalism, empathy, and strong client‑management skills
Skills
* Proficiency with legal practice management software (Clio preferred, but not required)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize efficiently
