POSITION SUMMARY Provides care and services for children and families with multifaceted needs that may include stabilization in living environment, coordination of placements, and support and services when discharging from higher levels of care. Services provided are primarily in the community and client’s living environment. Services may include comprehensive assessment and treatment planning, individual and family therapeutic interventions, close collaboration with clinical team to determine and guide service provision. POSITION SUMMARY Primary duties of the Child and Family Therapist include outpatient and home-based family, individual, and play therapy for a broad range of behavioral health problems. Knowledge and understanding of family systems theory, family dynamics, and family therapy is essential. Must also have field experience in working with multi-problem families, with ability to relate well with families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicity. Crisis intervention, school and agency consultation, assessment and treatment planning are included. There must be willingness and ability to work in close cooperation with other team and project members, to share responsibilities, work distribution, and decision-making.
