Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician II performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, friendly and cost-effective pharmacotherapy services. Specialized functions/areas include, but are not limited to the following: sterile compounding, controlled substance oversight, pediatrics, medication history, patient assistance, inventory control, medstation maintenance, unit inspection, packaging and bedside discharge service. Utilizes requisite equipment, non-sterile and/or compounding supplies and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, preparation for verification and/or delivery of medication. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the pharmacy, equipment and supplies.
