POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Supervisor-Nursing is responsible for assisting unit Director and/or Manager with the day-to-day operational management of the assigned nursing or clinical unit to include the direct supervision of RNs and nursing staff. Expectations of the Supervisor include working directly with the Director and/or Manager in development of the nursing staff including education, department competencies, evaluation, performance correction, and patient safety and customer service-related issues. The Supervisor will assist nursing and unit-based care staff in their professional development. In addition to day-to-day operational supervision, the focus of the Supervisor will be on developing and enhancing clinical knowledge, technical skills, clinical decision-making skills, professional performance standards and inter-personal skills that nursing and care staff use to provide safe, high quality patient care services.
