Position: Associate Medical Director – Family Medicine or Specialty Practice
Compensation: $205,000 – $230,000 + $15k sign on bonus
Overview:
The Associate Medical Director provides both clinical leadership and hands-on patient care. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned practice sites, including supervision of providers, ensuring quality and compliance standards, and supporting research and program initiatives. Administrative and clinical time allocation depends on the size and scope of each site’s programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Management & Administration:
Direct supervision of all providers assigned to the site, including performance evaluations and competency assessments
Monitor provider productivity, quality measures, and regulatory compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA)
Participate in monthly leadership meetings and Clinical Director Group (CDG) meetings
Assist in supervising research programs or other clinical initiatives at the site
Collaborate with nursing, social work, and administrative teams on hiring, evaluation, and patient care matters
Communicate with regional medical directors regarding staff and practice needs
Clinical Responsibilities:
Maintain an active clinical practice
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care
Utilize best practice alerts, quality improvement initiatives, and core measure compliance
Investigate and implement methods to evaluate and improve patient care
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program
NY State Medical License
Board-eligible or board-certified in relevant specialty
Current BCLS and DEA certification
Strong clinical skills and proven supervisory/leadership experience
Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict management skills
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
Preferred:
Previous clinical supervisory experience
Experience with quality improvement, program oversight, or research initiatives
