Position Summary:


The Accounting Clerk position will be located in Charlotte, NC and is responsible for, but limited to, answering phones, posting Accounts Payable Invoices, posting Accounts Receivable deposits to a specified bank, limited fleet responsibility and all other duties as assigned by branch or Corporate.


  • Daily retrieval of invoices from the AP distribution email (Distribute as necessary or obtain necessary approvals)
  • Confirm the purchase order has been received for the invoice
  • If not send for receipt
  • If received, process Invoice into the ERP system
  • Process all AP invoices daily into the ERP system for payment
  • Including expenses, utilities, phone charges, etc.
  • Review Vendor Statements for accuracy and receipt and entry of invoice
  • Reconcile and post the monthly Credit Card Statement
  • Process Direct Payment drafts from Bank into ERP system
  • Customer Invoicing
  • Post check deposits into the ERP system and scan check deposit to bank
  • Complete all ACH Deposits
  • Complete Collection calls and put collection notes into ERP
  • Assist others in branch with A/R responsibilities
  • IFTA responsibilities for compliance with regulations
  • Vehicle Fleet issues/concerns
  • Opening / Distributing mail daily
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years accounting and/or bookkeeping experience preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role, however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift up to 15 lbs., open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
  • Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
