Position Summary:

The Controller position at Patriot Crane and Hoist LLC will serve as functional lead for the accounting and financial operational support. This position will be a hands-on position in driving the successful growth of the organization and will play an important part in improving operational effectiveness, maximize cashflow, working capital and maximize team-member value. This position will report to the Regional Controller.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the close process of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting and preparation of timely and accurate financial reports
  • Complete month end close procedures, related journal entries, and maintain reconciliations
  • Develop strong accounting practices around recording and invoicing service technician activities and parts inventory management
  • Organize revenue and COGS data
    for percentage of completion revenue accounting
  • Gather information and report on monthly sales commissions
  • Analyze weekly cash reports and participate in cash flow processes
  • Provide support for the annual audit
  • Provide support for the annual budgeting process
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports as requested
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax reports if necessary
  • Track capital expenditures
  • Oversee all accounting functions including cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, work in process and invoicing
  • Identify financial gaps and opportunities, and work with Regional Controller to implement and monitor compliance
  • Provide support to the Regional Controller, Vice President of Accounting and Chief Financial Officer as requested


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office Applications
  • Has a proven track record of accounting excellence
  • Strong understanding and application of GAAP
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and creating structured processes in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience in motivating and managing staff
  • Strong background in Percent Project Completion Accounting methods, rules, and schedules to ensure all active projects are billed and collect over the course of production.
  • Speak to customers in a professional and respectful etiquette, even in interactions of stress, complaint, or urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Excel Skills

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 3+ years' experience in a supervisory accounting position.
  • Experience with manufacturing operations preferred
  • Experience with multiple reporting locations preferred


Work Environment:

  • Ability to work at a desk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Travel: 30-40%
