Horton, Inc., has an opening for a Human Resources Summer 2025 Internship at our Corporate Headquarters in Roseville, MN. This is a full-time onsite position Monday-Friday.

 

Position Summary:

The purpose of the HR Intern role is to create a learning opportunity for a Junior or Senior majoring in Human Resources, while at the same time working as a member of the HR team accomplishing key deliverables and gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities

Human Resources Intern's Responsibilities:

 

  • Intern Program. This role will function as the center of our internship program, organizing events, plant visits, staff meet & greets, lunches and more. They will also conduct weekly check-ins with all interns to solicit feedback on the experience and seek ways to enhance our program. 
  • Recruitment. This role will have an opportunity to learn about the recruitment process and system along with reviewing resumes, posting new roles and supporting the selection and sourcing process through pre-screens, on-site interview set up, etc. 
  • Onboarding. This role will observe and then conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities during the course of their internship. They will offer ideas for improvements and work to integrate those improvements as appropriate. They will ensure new hire records are appropriately maintained, and new hires have everything they need to start off on the right foot (materials, picture, onboarding schedule, time with their manager, etc.) 
  • Training. This role will be introduced to our Learning Management System (LMS) and will support the ongoing administration of the LMS to include the maintenance and auditing of records. They will also have an opportunity to review and implement enhancements to the current LMS content and suggest or create new content. 
  • Compliance. This role will support the ongoing compliance requirements of the HR field to include benefits updates, leaves of absence, affirmative action, record-keeping, safety, etc.  
  • As with everyone on the team, other duties may be assigned in order to support the overall success of the company. 

 



Qualifications



Human Resources Intern Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in Human Resources with strong academic performance (3.0 GPA or above) 
  • Junior, Senior status preferred 
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong initiative and decision-making skills 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Self-starter who can work well independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across the organization with a selfless, positive, get-it-done attitude
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.  

 

Additional Information:

The estimated hiring range for this position is $22-23 per hour. Compensation will be based on your year in school.
