Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, managing the business insurance and related relationships, and other related tasks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's financial activities and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Overall owner of the accuracy and validation of the company's financial records.
  • Assist with review and transacting of bank and credit card transactions on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with review and transacting of location payroll expenses.
  • Manage and own importing daily sales transmittals from the POS system.
  • Own and manage the company's business insurance administration, including transacting of expenses and reconciliation of accruals, etc.
  • Drive month-end closing activities, including preparing accruals, reconciling accounts, and generating reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary approvals and documentation for payment processing.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as aging reports and cash flow analysis.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience and aptitude in general accounting roles (2-3 years minimum).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in multi-unit businesses and industries.
  • Intermediate to expert level proficiency utilizing accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
  • Prior finance/accounting experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is highly desired.

  • Paylocity (HR, payroll, and employee Information)
  • Plate IQ (invoicing & payments)
  • Restaurant 365 (inventory management, finance, and reporting)
  • Microsoft 365
  • Dropbox/One Drive

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred and/or minimum 2-3 years direct experience in the role or related roles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds.
