Primary function:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant/Accounting Supervisor to join our finance team. In this role, you will collaborate with finance and accounting leads to manage daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial standards. Essential functions:
• Oversee general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and practices.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure reporting integrity.
• Support external audits by preparing reconciling schedules and responding to inquiries.
• Play an active role in accounting for acquisitions, including integration and reporting.
• Other ad hoc projects, analysis, and requests as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• No supervision responsibilities.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
• Strong understanding of financial software
• Experience working in a multi-location or branch/store based business preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Detail oriented and highly organized
• Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent critical thinking skills
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable regulations
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting
• CPA or CMA preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
• Must have visual and hearing acuity
• Performs duties in an office environment
• Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
• Able to travel to company locations as needed
