The IT Product Designer role serves as a liaison among departmental stakeholders in order to design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business potential. Has a strong ability to untangle vague conceptual problems and determine business capabilities. Leads stakeholders to consensus to define the problems at hand and architect appropriate solutions. Translates disorganized information into a form that can drive relevant and practical solutions. Validates the implementation of the optimal solution for the needs of the business. Demonstrates problem solving skills and logical thinking.
Road Scholar offers a remote-first work environment. The compensation range for this exempt level salaried position is $86,000 - $104,000.
In this role, you will...
Lead meetings, facilitate probing discussions, and perform investigative work to untangle vague conceptual problems and determine business capabilities.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and information technology team to propose possible solutions and determine course of action.
Use your sharp intuition to present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely, focusing on key points to portray the intended message or purpose.
Partner with leaders in other areas to ensure that proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business, and security architectures.
Create clear, intuitive, and visually appealing human interfaces. You care about business needs, implications, and practicality of designs. You don't get stuck on pretty UI or deep abstractions and can balance craft, speed, and the bottom line.
Serve as a resource throughout each phase of the development life cycle to help clarify capabilities and solution design, testing, and acceptance specifications.
Work within project deadlines, schedules, and multiple competing priorities to consistently deliver high-quality work product.
Assess the impact of new capabilities on an existing suite of complex applications and provide guidance to technical staff regarding desired functionality.
We're seeking...
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience working in a business architect, product manager, or product designer role.
Experience with a CRM/ERP technology stack such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
Excellent communication skills, and you enjoy partnering with business stakeholders to deliver quick, optimal system solutions.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders as well as IT staff.
Clear communicator, able to produce clear definitions and documentation of project scope and requirements.
Able to work in a dynamic environment to manage competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and deliver high quality materials.
Able to interview and facilitate focused group discussions as well as work collaboratively and build consensus across the organization.
Proven experience in managing relationships with IT teams and internal stakeholders.
