Ensure compliance with GAAP, implementing effective internal controls and documenting all accounting policies and procedures for areas of responsibility and following the standards issued by applicable US government agencies.
Manage cash flow.
Lead accounts payable cycle by ensuring all accounts are paid in a timely manner and all reasonable discounts are taken. Verify documents to invoices; assure proper coding is assigned; review sales tax charges for accuracy. Monitor problem resolution process regarding disputed invoices or other issues- assist as needed.
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants for the Line of Credit and Mortgage.
Manage outsourced functions such as employee issued debit and credit cards, insurance billings, banking ACH and wire transactions.
Ensure all GL accounts are reconciled.
Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Manage vehicle fleet, including leasing agreements, licensing, registration, insurance, etc. This includes supporting employees with exceptions, concerns and coordination efforts.
Participate in and manage the collection and coordination of WIP reporting efforts.
Manage inventory and reconciliation process.
Assist with timely, accurate and complete monthly financial statements and other metrics.
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
Assist with managing all insurance policy renewals.
Assist with coordination of and preparation of annual report, tax returns, budgets and forecasts.
Maintain and refine management cost reports, established rates, overhead, etc.
Participate in the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and any other financial audit such as Workers Compensation, etc.
Research compliance matters that effect other key processes, such as prevailing wage laws, lien laws and laws governing contractor licensing, making recommendations to management.
Identify and escalate potential issues to Management.
