Job Description

Controller
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Controller to support financial operations for a growth focused private equity-backed organization. This role offers the opportunity to shape financial processes, drive strategic initiatives, and contribute to meaningful growth in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.

This role is fully onsite in Salem, Oregon.

Controller Responsibilities
Lead financial operations, including oversight of accounting and financial reporting.
Build, develop, supervise, and mentor a high-performing accounting team, encouraging collaboration and professional growth.
Prepare accurate financial statements in alignment with GAAP standards and company objectives.
Streamline month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor and maintain regulatory compliance while strengthening internal controls and processes.
Manage external audits, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors.
Design and implement policies and systems to improve financial operations and support scalability.
Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making and long-term strategy.

Controller Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1+ year in a Controller level role.
Experience in healthcare, private equity-backed organizations, multi-entity environments, and/or public accounting is preferred.
Solid knowledge of GAAP principles, regulatory compliance, and financial best practices.
Hands-on experience with accounting systems and proficiency in Excel.
Proven ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor, motivate, and build strong teams.
Detail-oriented, results-driven, and adaptable to the needs of a fast-paced, evolving organization.

Compensation: $120k-$150k (DOE) + Bonus
