What you will contribute:
As part of the Global Operations team at MoneyGram, you will be able to support multiple processes across and within each unit of the Financial Paper Products team. Financial Paper Products specializes in the servicing of Financial Institution partners and Money Order Clearings and Consumer related inquiries/support. This incumbent will be responsible for:
Being the primary bank adjustment liaison with the financial institutions in resolving complicated issues and/or high dollar items. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring all adjustments, advices, and correspondence from MoneyGram's suite of products (money orders and official checks) are researched and resolved in a timely manner to minimize financial risk exposure.
Resolving financial based exceptions for our customers, agents, and Financial Institutions, minimizing financial risk by resolving exception items within established guidelines and service levels.
Reconciling and analyzing selected complex accounts typically involving multiple system reports, documents, and procedures. The incumbent will investigate sources of entry to accounts and make necessary adjustments or corrections to general ledger based upon reconciliation. The incumbent will also research and resolve reconciling items on general ledger accounts, internal systems, bank statements, and settlement files in accordance with the established business rules to minimize financial risk.
Monitoring and balancing multiple in clearing, settlement, and return files within established deadlines thus mitigating the risk to MoneyGram and our key partners. Incumbent is responsible for identifying trends and escalating any recurring problems to management.
What you’ll do:
Research, analyze, and resolve item exceptions for customers and department within established service levels eliminating financial losses to MoneyGram
Maintain proper documentation for each case to ensure complete audit trail information exists. Monitor and work all cases and work list assigned items. Use omni channel (telephone calls, email, chat, etc.) to communication with internal &/or external customer to resolve exception.
Acts as the key contact with financial institutions in resolving problematic issues and/or high dollar adjustment items. Reconciles and analyzes selected complex accounts typically involving multiple system reports, documents, and procedures.
Research and resolves reconciling items on general ledger accounts, internal systems, bank statements, and settlement files in accordance with the established business rules to minimize financial risk. Research, analyze, and resolve item exceptions for customers and department within established service levels.
Manages all issues impacting file production working with key internal and external partners until satisfactory resolution mitigating financial impact to MoneyGram and our partners. Monitors all incoming and outgoing bank files validating item count and dollar value with charge.
Runs job streams for release of work in the mainframe system within established deadlines. Minimizes financial risk by confirming all functions are resolved within department guidelines to meet established SLA's.
Remains current with product, policies, procedures, and regulations to act as a resource for management and peers as well as assist with potential job training requirements. Supports management with implementation and execution of change within the department aimed at reducing risk to the organization; drive efficiencies and/or reduce operational expense.
Share experience with others within areas to meet objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
High School Diploma/GED
Any combination of relevant education and experience and/or related professional designations/certifications in this field is highly desirable.
4-6 years’ experience with a background in Financial Paper Products or related experience.
Typing and 10-key skills.
PC experience: Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong knowledge of bank operations.

Salary:
Anticipated Hourly Pay: $26-$28 + participation in our annual bonus plan.
