POSITION SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Health Information Management (HIM) processes, with 15 years of experience in the field, combined with nursing or pharmacist experience and a certification in Epic HIM. This role requires a strategic leader with solid critical thinking skills who can bridge the gap between HIM, clinical staff, and IT to ensure seamless integration of health information systems, specifically Epic, to optimize workflows, compliance, and data integrity.
Responsibilities will include:
• Serve as a strategic liaison between HIM, nursing, clinical departments, and IT to align business objectives with HIM technology and informatics solutions.
• Lead the implementation and optimization of Epic HIM systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and patient care standards.
• Analyze and improve HIM workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy to include but not limited to chart corrections.
• Provide subject matter expertise in HIM processes, including coding, clinical documentation, release of information, and compliance standards.
• Understand how Epic upgrades, modifications, and build issues translate into functional workflows for HIM.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing, pharmacy, related healthcare field, and/or HIM

Position will spend 40% on site working with HIM and other clinical departments.
