Schedule:

• Standard Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 5:30 pm
• Tax Season: Saturdays required; three nights per week until 8 pm

Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant at SMG ABA, you will be instrumental in supporting clients’ financial reporting and tax preparation needs, helping them achieve their business goals. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive accountant with experience in financial statements, tax preparation, and client communication.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare, analyze, interpret, and present financial reports on a regular basis.
• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial statements, maintaining high-quality standards.
• Oversee, reconcile, and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy and consistency.
• Communicate with clients regarding financial reports, outstanding items, trends, tax matters, and other business or personal accounting inquiries.
• Prepare, review, and submit sales and payroll tax filings for clients on a periodic basis.
• Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Supervise and provide guidance to Junior Accountants and Bookkeepers, addressing internal accounting questions and fostering skill development.
• Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120S.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation is a plus)
• CPA or relevant certification preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience focused on tax preparation, financial reporting, and bookkeeping
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations for corporate and individual filings
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
