Carle Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing Orthopaedic Department in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
Responsibilities: Provides health assessment for patients directed toward continuing a state of wellness, establishing the need for intervention, evaluating responses to and outcomes of therapy, and following a mutually agreed upon treatment plan. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate. Communicates with other health professionals, families, and referral agencies regarding health status and needs of particular patients or patient groups. Serves as a role model in the enhancement of nursing practice and professional conduct following professional practice guidelines. Responsible for nursing care delivery by patient care support staff. Performs General Services and Procedures as identified in Collaborative Agreements with Orthoped Surgeons/Physicians. (Plan, Implement, Coordinate and Evaluate care) Participates in problem solving systems and processes in the setting of Orthopedic care (i.e. Ambulatory, Inpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Center) Maintains positive interactive relationship with the Orthopedic physicians Maintains a positive, interactive relationship with nursing and ancillary staff. Performs and facilitates efficient and safe healthcare practices. Documents, codes and bills patient care appropriately. Elicits and records medical histories Performs initial history and physical exams on assigned patients Assesses patients medical/surgical conditions Administers treatment in conformity with usual practice and practice guidelines Advises and counsels patients or legal guardian of patient problems Assists physicians or other advanced practice providers as needed Collaborates with attending physicians when extensive evaluation, procedures, operations, sub-specialist consultation, hospital admission or continuing treatments are required. Consults with collaborating physician or designate any time diagnosis or case management is unclear. Utilizes prescriptive authority, procedures, referrals and treatments in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Uses current healthcare research to expand clinical knowledge enhance role performance and increase knowledge of professional and direct patient care issues. Complete full musculoskeletal exam Splinting/Casting of the upper/lower extremities, including reductions and intra-articular injections if privileged Ability to assist in OR as credentialed and privileged, may not apply to some hires Qualifications: License/Certifications:
