The Marriott Phoenix Chandler, located in Chandler- a Southeast suburb of Phoenix, is the newest Full Service Marriott in the state of Arizona!

An Entry Level Accounting Generalist provides administrative and clerical support to the Director of Finance.  

The Accounting Generalist performs a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. 

Responsibilities and Duties Include but Not Limited to the Following:

• Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
• Types accurately, prepares and maintains accounting documents and records.
• Prepares bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
• Reconciles accounts in a timely manner.
• Enters key data of financial transactions in the database on a daily basis.
• Provides assistance and support to other departments and to hotel guests.
• Researches, tracks and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Informs management and compiles reports/summaries on activity areas.
• Ensures that hotel vendors are paid in a timely fashion, as per agreed upon terms and conditions and hotel policy.
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in accounting or related field desirable.
• Previous experience in hotel Front Desk or Accounting operations.  A/P, A/R and/or Payroll experience preferred.
• Must be able to work effectively with the following systems and related hardware:  property management system (preferable FSPMS/MARSHA); accounting management system; point of sales system; office suite.
• Ability to follow complex and detailed instructions.
• Extremely detail-oriented and precise.
• Professional attitude is required.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Works well with others.
• Good communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask.
