Under the direction of the Administrative Director and the Radiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative. Provides written documentation in the patient medical record as required to outline parameters of the diagnostic procedure. Evaluates the need for, and provides education and associated educational materials to any and all patients and families who are having diagnostic tests.
Qualifications:
Required:
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training program or graduate of A.M.A certified diagnostic medical sonography program.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills. Proficient/accurate computer and typing skills. Ability to analyze information and prioritize. Must be customer service oriented.
Current registration by the A.R.R.T. and/or A.R.D.M.S current licensure in one or more ultrasound disciplines is required. Technologist must maintain a current Iowa State Department of Public Health Permit to Practice. Maintains BLS certification.
