Quality Engineer
 Morris, CT
Full Time; 1st Shift

Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards throughout the development and manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving quality issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Product Testing: Plan and conduct product tests, inspections, and audits throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Utilize problem-solving techniques to investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, quality plans, and non-conformance reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to promote a culture of quality and facilitate effective communication regarding quality issues.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, conducting audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related role, preferably in the electronic manufacturing industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC).
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Understanding of Electronic Manufacturing including PCB Assembly.
    • Familiarity with CAD software and design processes is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma certification) are desirable.
