Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum of 4-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry or real estate experience

Proven experience in job costing, contract management, and project accounting

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing financial insights to support decision-making processes

This role requires a thorough understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, contract management, and project financial reporting

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP

Manage month-end and year-end close processes

Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for deviations

Maintain job cost accounting records and monitor project budgets

Manage construction contracts, change orders, and billing

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project costs and revenues

Reconcile job cost reports with general ledger

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts

Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions as necessary
