Job Description

Overview:

The HR Manager is tasked with overseeing and managing the full spectrum of Human Resources activities, emphasizing compliance, payroll, and benefits across multiple brands and locations in the United States. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and the capability to implement strategic HR initiatives aligning with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and adherence to federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is hands-on and ready for the challenges that our unique environment and business model requires.

Responsibilities:
  1. Compliance:

   - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across all locations.

   - Maintain current knowledge of HR trends and legal requirements, advising the organization on necessary changes and updates.

   - Conduct regular audits of HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance.

   - Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees and management understand and comply with legal requirements and company policies.

   - Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries and issues, providing expert guidance and support.

   - Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to address complex compliance issues and mitigate risks.

   - Monitor and manage compliance with workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and coordinate with safety officers to ensure a safe working environment.

 

  1. HR Data Management and Reporting:

   - Maintain accurate HR records and prepare regular reports on HR metrics, such as turnover, recruitment, and employee satisfaction.

   - Utilize HRIS to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy and accessibility.

 

  1. Employee Relations:

   - Act as the primary point of contact for division leaders, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.

   - Handle complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and resolving conflicts effectively.

   - Foster a positive work environment through engagement initiatives and open communication channels.

 

  1. Payroll Management:

   - Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

   - Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.

   - Stay updated on payroll legislation and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.

 

  1. Performance Management:

   - Lead the performance appraisal process, providing training and support to managers on setting goals, providing feedback, and conducting evaluations.

   - Implement performance improvement plans and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.

 

  1. Compensation and Benefits:

   - Administer compensation programs, ensuring competitive and equitable pay practices.

   - Design and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.

   - Conduct regular reviews of benefit plans to ensure they meet employee needs and align with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.

- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 6 years in a senior generalist role.

- Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements across multiple states.

- Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues and conduct effective investigations.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

- Demonstrated experience in payroll management, performance management, and benefits design and administration.

- Proficiency with HRIS and other HR-related software.

- Ability to travel as needed to support various locations.

Pay Range: USD $75,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
