Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

Incumbent will play an ongoing key role in the loading and maintenance of Professional contracts in the current contract management system, whether incorporated within the AR system or via a vendor, ensuring accurate calculation of contractual write offs that ultimately allow the AR system to reflect accurate expected reimbursement and facilitate identification of potential underpayments and denials. This position will take the lead role in any implementation, modifications and/or troubleshooting of related computer systems and application as well as develop and maintain process documentation, training, data flows and reports that affect the current contract management system providing daily operational support, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare automated systems utilized in a Business Office environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize key information clearly and concisely
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in a hospital based environment utilizing an automated Patient Accounting system
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with contract rates loading in a contract management system; prefer experience with MedAssets Contract Manager application
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Detailed knowledge of registration, billing and collections processes and data requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in database management, including developing and maintaining database software, providing data entry, and generating reports
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to identify priorities and manage workload accordingly
  • Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, templates and analytical views
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve independently and/or collaboratively as the situation dictates
  • Ability to read and understand intent of regulatory documents to be able to assess impact on current operational processes
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and develop and recommend new processes as needed
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
