JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or three years equivalent experience. AR pharmacy tech license required within 60 days of hire. Experience Previous experience in pharmacy is preferred. Experience in purchasing and inventory control is preferred. Physical Normal hospital environment. Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range. Operates computer, typewriter, calculator. Finger dexterity. Eye-hand coordination. Frequent sitting, standing and walking. May lift and carry up to 35 lbs. JOB SUMMARY The Pharmacy Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and ordering of medicinal and ancillary supplies for the pharmacy department, as well as clinics and outside departments of St. Bernards Health Care. Verify delivery, reconcile cost/quantity and coordinate invoice payment for pharmaceutical products and supplies. Effectively manage and communicate shortages and backorders. Maintain regulatory standards for procurement and supply chain activities. Work collaboratively with pharmacy management to achieve budgetary requirements. Identify contract opportunities and validate compliance. Use data analytics for predictive purchasing. Manage the pharmacy inventory and packaging automation. Schedule and coordinate quarterly inventory. Work with the 340B Coordinator to ensure compliance of the 340B program. Be familiar with overall operations of the pharmacy department.
