The award recognizes Baptist Health’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment for at least 24 months according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines -- Gold Plus Heart Failure Quality Achievement Award
The recognition signifies that Baptist South has reached an aggressive goal of treating heart failure patients with 85 percent compliance for at least 24 months to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology secondary prevention guidelines for heart failure patients.

The award recognizes Baptist South’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care by Blue Cross Blue Shield
This distinction was given after it was determined that Baptist Medical Center South met criteria for selection. Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care provide a full range of cardiac services, including inpatient cardiac care, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, coronary artery bypass graft surgery and percutaneous coronary interventions. Facilities must also be fully accredited by The Joint Commission.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield created the nationwide Blue Distinction program with two goals in mind--first to engage consumers to make more informed healthcare choices and second to work with providers to improve quality outcomes and affordability.

This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by the hospital to provide “An Outstanding Inpatient Experience.” The distinction was determined by surveying recently discharged patients about their perceptions of their hospital visit and comparing the results to the national benchmarks established in the annual J.D. Power and Associates National Hospital Service Performance Study. The telephone-based research conducted among Prattville Baptist Hospital patients focused on five key areas of patient satisfaction with the patient’s overall experience. These areas of focus were speed and efficiency; dignity and respect; comfort; information and communication; and emotional support.
